1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Dead Pixel Testing at deadpixeltesting.com (the “Service”), operated by the operator of Dead Pixel Testing (“we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

Dead Pixel Testing is a free, browser-based tool for inspecting displays. It includes a fullscreen dead pixel test, a Stuck Pixel Reviver and Stuck Pixel Fixer, a backlight bleed test, an OLED burn-in test and a Display info panel. It runs in your web browser, and no account is needed.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, without notice and without liability to you. We do not promise that the Service will always be available or free of errors.

3. Health and safety warning

The Stuck Pixel Reviver and Stuck Pixel Fixer display rapidly flashing colors. Flashing lights can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy and may cause discomfort, dizziness or headaches in others. Do not use these tools if you, or anyone who may see your screen, has epilepsy or may be sensitive to flashing lights. Place the box over the stuck pixel and look away while it runs. Stop immediately if you feel unwell.

Solid full-screen colors at high brightness can be uncomfortable to look at for long periods. Take breaks as needed.

4. No guarantee of results

The Service is an inspection aid, not a professional diagnostic service or a warranty assessment. In particular:

• The screen tests help you spot dead pixels, stuck pixels, backlight bleed, IPS glow and uniformity issues, but whether you notice a defect depends on your display, its settings, your surroundings and your eyesight.
• The Stuck Pixel Reviver sometimes helps stuck sub-pixels recover, but it often does not, and it cannot revive dead pixels.
• Display details such as resolution, device pixel ratio and refresh rate are reported or estimated by your browser and may be inaccurate.

You are responsible for how you use the Service and for decisions you make based on it, such as returning, keeping or repairing a display. Check your manufacturer's or seller's warranty and return policies directly.

5. Care of your display

Used as intended, the Service will not harm a healthy display. However, leaving any static image or pattern on screen for many hours can contribute to image retention or burn-in, especially on OLED and plasma screens. Use the Stuck Pixel Reviver's auto-stop timer, keep sessions reasonable, and do not leave tests running unattended for long periods.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for any lawful personal or business purpose, including testing displays you sell, repair or review. You agree not to:

• interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service or the servers that host it;
• use automated means to access the Service in a way that places an unreasonable load on it;
• copy, frame or re-publish the Service or its content in a way that suggests it is your own or that you are affiliated with us;
• use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, code and the Dead Pixel Testing name and logo, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you permission to use the Service as described above; they do not transfer any ownership to you. Screenshots or photos you take of your own screen while using the Service are yours to use as you wish.

8. Third-party services and links

The Service is hosted by Cloudflare, uses Google Analytics only if you consent, and may display ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are provided by third parties; we do not endorse the products or services advertised. The Service may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party services or websites, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or equipment, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to zero, or the lowest amount permitted by law if that is higher.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep any statutory rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
